UPCOUNTRY OYSTER ROAST
Athens Land Trust Celebrates 7th Annual Upcountry Oyster Roast!
On Sunday, March 25th, The Athens Land Trust hosted its 7th annual Upcountry Oyster Roast to celebrate conservation achievements from 2017 and to raise funds to support future conservation efforts. The Upcountry Oyster Roast celebrates Partnerships with landowners statewide who are working with ALT to protect 16,485 acres of forest, farmland, river corridors and wetlands, historic sites, and public recreation areas in 36 counties and 10 of Georgia's 14 river basins.
The event was held along the Apalachee River on the grounds of the Portico, in High Shoals, Georgia. The rustic charms of the property provided a perfect setting where guest enjoyed live music, short walks to the river, and apple cider around the fire. This year's guest were able to enjoy oysters and clams from Sapelo Sea Farms on the Georgia coast, along with beer, wine, farm-fresh foods and desserts.
